What is the difference between Dismantlers / Breakers / Scrap yards / Auto Recyclers?
Some general terms are just intertwined into the English Language but a true Scrap yard is only interested in processing vehicles into various metals to sell into the metals market. Breakers is still in general a term used for companies who sell parts of a vehicle but is a term that most modern thinking Auto Recyclers do not like.
Dismantlers or Auto Recyclers are the modern terms for companies who have  modern decontamination and disassembly systems to produce vehicle parts that they sell with a guarantee. Most modern thinking Auto Recyclers do not like to be called Breakers, Wreckers or Scrapyards.

How many Suppliers will see my request?
We have a network of around 150 of the best spare parts suppliers, breakers and dismantlers across the country. They will all receive your request unless they do not process your make of vehicle.

How long will my request for spare parts / used parts stay on your system?
Your spare parts / used parts request will be on our system for one working day. If you hear nothing within that day please contact us again and we will re-submit your request for spare parts / used parts.
Our suppliers are constantly receiving new stock so your part will more than likely become available within the next few days.

How will I receive quotes from Your Suppliers?
Our members will contact you by telephone, email, Text Message or Fax.
Please remember we are the only Parts Location Service which does not send Chargeable Text messages.

When will I get quotes?
Our members will start contacting you within minutes of submitting your request. You will probably receive more than one quote from our network of spare parts and used parts suppliers. It is up to you to decide who you purchase from.

Am I obliged to purchase if I make a request?
No. You're under no obligation whatsoever. It is totally your decision if you decide to purchase goods from a member of our network.

How much will the parts cost?
You can expect to make substantial savings on spare parts / used parts from our network of spare parts and used parts suppliers when compared to buying new. In many cases expect  to save between 50-80% when comparing the price to the price of new parts.

What guarantee / warranty will I get?
All spare parts, used parts suppliers registered with Find-A-Part must give a minimum 30 day guarantee on all parts they sell, however many suppliers will offer longer guarantees. Please discuss this with the suppliers when they contact you.

What success rate does Find-A-Part have in locating spares?
All our market research over the 35 years we have been finding Parts indicates that we find between 85% and 95% of the parts needed.

How do I pay for my parts? 
Most members accept all major credit/debit cards. Some members will accept cheques, this will normally result in a delay in you getting your spares. We advise against anybody paying by cash.

When will I receive my used parts or spare parts?
Most suppliers can offer a 24 hour delivery but this depends on the time of the day of the actual sale and other factors. This should be discussed with the supplier at the time of the sale.

What happens if the part(s) I receive are wrong or damaged? 
Our Chairman and Founder is proud of the fact that our and our members quality of service results in less than 0.5 % complaints.
In the unlikely event of a problem arising you should, in the first instance, contact the supplier directly.
We operate a customer services department which is available to any customer who has used our services.
Should you have a complaint after you have contacted the supplier inform the supplier that you will be writing to Find-A-Part Ltd or E.Mailing your complaint to CustomerSupport@Find-A-Part.com.
On receipt of your complaint we will forward this to the Supplier asking them to reply to us within 10 Working days and inform you of their reply.
